I started work at the Lotus shoe factory early in January 1923. After working in the making room for some years, I was then transferred into east block where they cut up all the leather for soles and top pieces. In about 1935, I joined Vik Supplies Ltd., sorting and packing the cut soles and top pieces for dispatching to the manufacturers and repairers. When orders dropped off, I was sent on loan to Evode Ltd on April 1st 1957.

At first I worked with Mr Cartwright on the latex cements, when his section was moved down to the Vik factory I went on to the now well known Evo-Strip, from there I now work with Mr F Davies on made up samples.
